Diderot & d´Alambert, Encyclopédie ou Dictionnaire raisonné des sciences, des arts et des metiers

Restoration of 34 Folio volumes
Even well-preserved objects age, and over time may suffer from unavoidable influences and problems related to the materials used for their production. Such fragile objects can only be used to a very limited extent and are no longer stable enough to be exhibited or loaned. The mechanical damage to the materials used for the volumes’ binding and covers required restoration work that ensured their structural stabilization. Protective packaging guarantees that the volumes will be effectively protected from external mechanical and climatic influences in future.
